During my recent weekend trip to Travelodge By Wyndham Yermo, I was pleasantly surprised by how this cozy little spot served as a perfect pitstop for our excursion to the eerie Ghost Town of Calico. Nestled right off the freeway and away from the chaotic vibes of Barstow, it felt safe and secure—just what you need when exploring the backroads of America. The rooms were decently sized, equipped with air conditioning and the best blackout curtains I've experienced in a motel! We found our stay quiet, except for the occasional hum of passing trucks. The staff was incredibly friendly, ready to offer practical advice on the area—making our Californian adventure feel even more welcome. One feature I adored was the 24/7 diner on-site. I wish I'd known about that sooner, as the food from Penny’s Diner certainly hit the spot after a long day of traveling. If you're looking for a reliable base for your road trip, this was definitely a win. Yermo, with its charm and convenience, will be a memorable entry in my journey across the Americana landscape.
